PumpkinHead & Waco
On Oct 29th the TCU Rowing Team participated at the Head of the Colorado, a 4,000m regatta in Austin. All our crews preformed very well, with our Mens Varsity 4+ leaving the competition in their wake. Here are their results:
The Team then competed in a 5,000m race in Waco on Nov 12th. The results are highlighted below.
Head of the Oklahoma
The Team traveled to OKC to race on September 30 and Sunday October 1st at the Head Of The Oklahoma. The Team raced 14 races including multiple 8+ & 4+, 2X and 1X. On Saturday we raced the majority of Men and Women 8+ and 4+ 4,000m head races with the Novice Mens 8+medaling. Saturday night were the 500m night sprint races, held under full Moon. On Sunday we had 23 rowers out on the water all at once, when we had a Mens Open 4+ which placed 2nd and two Mixed 8+s, one of which took 3rd with our second 8+ only seconds behind. It was a great event and the Team is looking forward to Austin’s PumpkinHead on Oct 29th.
SteerHead Regatta
On September 25th TCU hosted Baylor, Rice and SMU for the 3,000m SteerHead right here is Fort Worth on the Trinity River. It was the first race for many of our rowers and a huge deal as many have only been rowing just over a month. It was Family weekend at TCU and it was so great to be able to meet many of the Teams family members. Here is a link to the Regatta Race Results: https://www.crewtimer.com/regatta/r12983
